The Seamless Burrow Bag is made using our proprietary synthetic insulation, EXCELOFT. EXCELOFT offers advantages in wet or humid conditions that could potentially compromise a down sleeping bag. EXCELOFT is perfectly paired with our seamless construction, which reduces sewing holes where warm air can escape and creates a more airtight sleeping bag. As a result, this simpler method of construction allows EXCELOFT to loft to its fullest potential, trapping more warm air and reducing the potential for cold spots. The interior features gathered quilts and elasticized stitching which hug and move with you as you sleep, keeping insulation close to the body and eliminating dead space without feeling restrictive.

Seamless Burrow Bag

Seamless construction allows us to maximize insulation's lofting ability. For our synthetic insulated sleeping bags, it's the perfect pairing. Standard synthetic insulation is prone to tearing. To prevent tearing, standard synthetic insulation must be sewn in place so the fibers don't pull apart in the course of normal usage. EXCELOFT on the other hand doesn't have the same issues because the unique blend of fibers causes the fibers to adhere to each other. As a result, sewing EXCELOFT in place isn't as necessary. This reduces sewing holes where warm air can escape and creates a more airtight sleeping bag. As a result, this simpler method of construction allows EXCELOFT to loft to its fullest potential, trapping more warm air and reducing the amount of cold spots associated with Sewn Through Construction.

The Spiral Stretch System (US.Patent No.7,900,301) is what made Montbell sleeping bags famous. The ability of the bag to move with you during the night has provided comfort for many. Our sleeping bags featuring seamless construction are no different. Although the exterior of the bag is a solid piece of fabric, the interior of the bag features a combination of the fabric's mechanical stretch and elastic stitching. The result, the sleeping bag hugs and moves with you as you sleep, but doesn't feel restrictive. This also means that as you move, gaps between you and the sleeping bag are less likely to form and maintains even coverage of the sleeping bag, maintaining your warmth.
