Privacy Policy for EEA users

Montbell Group (mont-bell (Suisse) SA, Montbell America, Inc. and Montbell Co., Ltd.) (hereinafter also "Montbell", "we", or "us") hereby promises to protect personal data which we collect from customers in the European Economic Area (the "EEA") (hereinafter "you"). Your privacy as a Montbell customer is important to us therefore we respect your rights and information as an ethical outdoor company.
The processing of personal data at Montbell always takes place in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations, guidelines, and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Processing Personal data

(1) Types of personal data to be acquired

The types of personal data to be acquired are as follows:

- Name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Credit/debit card details
- User ID and password
- Montbell Club member numbers

Information to be acquired automatically are as follows:

- Transaction information
- Log information
- Device information

We use Cookies to collect information from the computer or device you use to access our services. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in your device memory that help us to see which areas and features of our services are popular and count visits.

(2) Purposes of use of personal data

The purposes of use of personal data collected by us are as follows:

- To process payment and shipment, and to notify the status of your online order;
- To send postal mail and email notifications regarding sales, events and seminars;
- To manage the Montbell Club members' data and order history;
- To send newsletters to customers who consent to receive them;
- To conduct surveys to improve the quality of our services;
- To contact regarding recruitment, examination information for job applicants; and
- To analyze to improve our products and services.

In the case of processing your personal data for purposes other than the above, we will notify you in advance of such new purposes of use and other matters as required by applicable laws.
By manifesting your intention to consent to Privacy Policy, you will be deemed to have consented to the processing of your personal data by us within the scope of the above purposes of use, and we will process your personal data accordingly. You may withdraw such consent at any time. Even in that case, this will not affect any legitimate processing performed pursuant to consent before your withdrawal thereof.
Your personal data is necessary in order for us to provide our products and services to you, and there may be cases where our services cannot be provided due to insufficient personal information.

(3) Retention Period

We will retain your personal data as long as we require such data for achieving the purposes of use specified in 1.(2) above, but will promptly delete it when such data is no longer necessary.

We may provide your personal data to third parties such as affiliates of Montbell, cloud vendors, external business contractors of Montbell, etc. to serve the purposes of use specified above. These third parties are located in countries outside the EEA (including but not limited to Japan). By agreeing on this Privacy policy, you will be deemed to have consented to the following matters.

(a) Your personal data may be provided to third parties located outside the EEA;

(b) Your personal data may be processed for the purposes specified in 1.(2) above by third parties outside the EEA; and

(c) When the third party is located in a country outside the EEA and the country does not have the same data protection laws as the EEA, some of the personal data protection rights provided in the EEA may not be given.

However, in the case where we provide your personal data to a third party located in a country outside the EEA, we will ensure that adequate measures are taken to protect your personal data, for example, by entering into contractual agreements based on the GDPR and other relevant regulations.

You may request from us access to, rectification of, erasure of, and restriction of processing of your personal data, object to the processing of your personal data, and request data portability. We accept such requests at the contact point set forth in "2. Contact" below.
